About
Hi there. My name is Andreas Herten and since 2021 I run the Accelerating Devices Lab at Jülich Supercomputing Centre of Forschungszentrum Jülich. We focus on improving the performance of various scientific applications by utilizing compute accelerators (mostly GPUs) more efficiently; check out our blog! A large part of my work is a collaboration with NVIDIA (the NVIDIA Application Lab at Jülich) in which I worked since 1 November 2015.
I started at JSC right after doing my doctorate in particle physics at the Institute for Hadron Physics, also of Forschungszentrum Jülich. My thesis is titled »GPU-based Online Track Reconstruction for PANDA and Application to the Analysis of D→Kππ« and you find all relevant information (including a PDF of the work) at thesis.andreasherten.de.
By now, most of the documentation of my work is over at the Lab blog.
